Established 1851, the cemetery is the resting place of many of our early settlers. Within are beautiful markers, including the dollhouse of little Vivian Allison who passed in 1899. Fayette County’s cemeteries are invaluable to those who are tracing ancestors who were early settlers in Indiana, many of whom came this way from the south and east. Much information is available at the Fayette County Public Library, the courthouse, and the museum. The City Cemetery is open dawn to dusk.
